Privacy Policy
This English version is a non-binding translation provided for your convenience. Only the German version is legally binding.
In short: this website sets no cookies, uses no tracking and loads nothing from third-party servers. GlowCast itself runs on your PC and needs no account.

Hosting of this website
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When a page is accessed, Vercel processes technically necessary data in server logs: IP address, time, requested address, amount of data transferred, browser identifier and the previously visited page. This serves to deliver the website securely and reliably.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA in the process. Vercel is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; the transfer is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).
No cookies, no tracking
This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising services and embeds no content, fonts or scripts from third parties. The live preview on the home page runs entirely in your browser and stores nothing there. Its videos are hosted on this website itself.
The website keeps a few small markers in your browser’s local storage (localStorage), not as a cookie and without sending them to us: whether you closed the note about the English version, whether the giveaway popup has already appeared and, after signing up, your spot number (not your email address). This is technically necessary so that the note and the popup don’t reappear on every visit (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete these markers at any time in your browser settings.
Contact by email
If you send us an email, for example about an order, Custom Design or your license, we process your address, the content and any attached files such as your logo in order to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, otherwise point (f)). We delete the data once your request has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply.
The GlowCast app
Local data
Settings, overlays and your license key stay on your PC. Credentials for OBS and the Twitch login are stored with Windows encryption for your user account only. The license key is checked on your PC and not transmitted.
Update checks
GlowCast asks glowcast.studio whether a new version is available and downloads it from there if needed. This transmits your IP address, the time and the program version, which are processed in Vercel’s server logs (see Hosting). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping GlowCast secure and up to date (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Connections to streaming platforms
If you turn on Twitch or YouTube in the app, GlowCast connects directly from your PC to these services to receive chat and events. For TikTok LIVE, GlowCast connects to the TikFinity app on your own PC. We receive none of this. These connections are subject to the privacy policy of the respective platform.
Kick via the GlowCast relay
Kick delivers chat and events only to a public internet address, not directly to your PC. When you turn on Kick, GlowCast registers your channel name with glowcast.studio. Our relay subscribes to your channel’s events at Kick and forwards them to your GlowCast. In doing so, we only process what is publicly visible in the stream anyway:
- Chat: display name, message, name color and badges,
- follows, subscriptions and gifted subscriptions: display name and number or months, for KICKs also the amount, gift and message,
- whether your channel is currently live.
We store these events for no more than 15 minutes and no more than 200 per channel; after that they are deleted automatically. We do not store user IDs or profile pictures. The access key of your GlowCast is stored on our side only as a checksum and expires 30 days after it was last used. To protect against abuse, we count requests per IP address; for this purpose we store the IP address only as an encrypted checksum and for no more than one hour.
The relay runs on Vercel (see Hosting), the cache at Upstash, Inc. (USA) in a data center in Frankfurt am Main. The legal basis is the performance of the contract for GlowCast (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, for abuse protection, our legitimate interest (point (f)). Insofar as data may reach the USA in the process, the transfer is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR) and, for Vercel, additionally on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Data on Kick itself is subject to Kick’s privacy policy.
Giveaway: 5 Premium keys
Using the popup on this website, you can sign up for one of five free GlowCast Premium keys. The first 5 valid sign-ups each receive one key by email. No purchase necessary, no cash alternative.
Purpose and legal basis: We process your details solely to determine whether you are among the first five and to send you the key by email. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future; an informal email to kollaboration@andorfer-webdesign.de is enough, and we will then delete your entry.
Data stored: your email address, the time of sign-up, the language of the page and your spot number. We collect nothing else, and no automatic email is sent.
Storage period: until the key has been sent, for no more than 90 days; after that the entry is deleted automatically. Only the number of spots taken is kept, with no link to any person.
Abuse protection: To prevent anyone from grabbing the spots automatically, we count sign-up attempts per IP address (no more than 5 per hour). For this purpose we store the IP address only as an encrypted checksum and for no more than one hour (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a fair allocation).
Service providers: Sign-up runs on Vercel (see Hosting); the entries are stored at Upstash, Inc. (USA) in a data center in Frankfurt am Main. Both process the data on our behalf. Insofar as data may reach the USA in the process, the transfer is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR) and, for Vercel, additionally on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, the right to data portability and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority; the authority responsible for us is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
